This variety provides high yield potential and, in 14 internal trials in Central Valley, CA (2015-1016) showed to be a desirable option for the back half planting of competitor variety Cimarron because Minister is mechanically harvestable and well suited for the first half of the Cowboy planting. Minister may be planted from late December to mid-January and maintains good quality and yield potential, offering growers flexibility, and performs well direct seeded in the Central Valley or transplanted in the Pacific Northwest.
