About

Seeds of change.

Our Commitment to Sustainability.

At Bayer, every investment in innovation is an investment in sustainability. With our innovative vegetable solutions, we strive to find better ways to achieve more sustainable harvests while working collaboratively with growers and partners across the value chain. Our aim is to create value for our customers and society via the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices to address the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, resource limitations, and food security.

30-30-100

In line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we have made bold commitments to drive impact around some of the most pressing challenges faced of our time. Working in close cooperation with growers, we are committed to:

  • Reducing field greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 30% in the most emitting cropping systems that we serve by 2030.

  • Reducing the environmental impact of crop protection off-field by 30% by 2030.

  • Empowering 100 million smallholder farmers in developing regions by improving access to agronomic knowledge, products, services and partnerships.

Our long-term success lies in providing farmers with the tools and solutions they need to grow more food while continuing to adopt sustainable practices that have less impact on the environment. From more efficient varieties that reduce food loss and waste to new digital solutions that increase precision, Vegetables by Bayer with our Seminis and De Ruiter brands is actively working to contribute to these commitments across our portfolio and operations.
